SS Fabrication

A plant builder
with a working factory
down the road.

Three decades. Two hundred plants. One vertically integrated workshop — and one live reference facility next door. SS Fabrication is what happens when process engineering, fabrication, commissioning and real production all answer to the same family.

Our Story

From a single formaldehyde plant
to a botanical-processing specialist.

SS Fabrication began in 1988 with a focused mandate: design and build formaldehyde plants that actually worked in Indian conditions — and that local operators could maintain.

Over thirty-five years, that mandate expanded. Today our workshop at HSIIDC Rai handles complete turnkey projects across nine plant verticals — most notably herbal extraction, essential oil distillation and fermentation, but also formaldehyde, polymers, dairy, pharmaceuticals, kattha and specialty chemistries.

In the early 2010s we also became our own customer. Vyora Herbals — our sister concern — is a manufacturer and exporter of herbal extracts, essential oils, APIs and pharmaceuticals, running entirely on equipment fabricated by SS Fabrication. Every plant we design for you carries the lessons of a working factory, not just an engineering office.

What hasn't changed is the discipline. Process engineers sit next to fabrication shop-floor leads. The drawings on the laptop end up welded in steel forty paces away. Mistakes get caught before they leave the gate.

Binit Kumar Jha

Chemical engineer, formaldehyde-plant pioneer and the founding voice behind SS Fabrication's process engineering culture — since 1988.

Binit Kumar Jha is one of India's foremost specialists in turnkey chemical and botanical processing plants. He has personally designed and commissioned formaldehyde plants, kattha extraction plants from kaju chhilka (cashew peel), herbal extraction plants, essential oil distillation systems, fermentation plants, polymer plants and pharmaceutical API facilities — with 200+ plants delivered across India and 12+ export countries.

His proprietary Falling Film Evaporator (FFE) system for catechin / kattha extraction — developed at SS Fabrication — delivers 8–10 kg output per 100 kg of kaju chhilka versus the industry norm of 6–8 kg, a 25–30% yield advantage that translates directly to higher profit margins for plant operators.

That same principle of proving technology in production, not just on paper, led to the founding of Vyora Herbals — a fully operational herbal-extracts manufacturer running entirely on SS Fabrication-built equipment.

Today, Binit splits his time between the SS Fabrication shop floor at HSIIDC Rai and the Vyora production line — clients get advice grounded in the daily realities of running a plant, not just designing one.

Sister Concern

Vyora Herbals — our live reference plant.

Vyora Herbals is a manufacturer and exporter of herbal extracts, essential oils, APIs and pharmaceuticals. Vyora's entire process line — extraction units, distillation columns, evaporators, dryers, utilities, clean rooms — was engineered and fabricated by SS Fabrication.

This is rare in our industry. Most fabricators design plants and never see them run. We design plants, then run one ourselves. That feedback loop is what makes our engineering opinions worth listening to.

What We Actually Do

A single contract. Four working phases.
One accountable team.

Phase 01

Process Engineering

Feasibility study, mass & energy balance, P&IDs, equipment sizing and capital cost estimates. Tailored to your raw material and target grade.

Phase 02

Fabrication

SS304 / SS316 / SS316L vessel fabrication, jacketed reactors, columns, heat exchangers — all built in our Sonipat workshop under QC supervision.

Phase 03

Installation

Civil & structural layout, piping, electrical & instrumentation, utility connections. ATEX / PESO compliant where required.

Phase 04

Commissioning

Wet trials, performance guarantee runs, operator training, SOP documentation and ongoing yield-improvement support.

How We Work

Five things we believe.

Design follows operation.

Every plant has to be run by someone — usually in 40°C heat, often with mid-shift turnover. We design for the operator, not the consultant. We know this because we run Vyora.

Yield is engineering, not marketing.

If we promise an 82% recovery, we run wet trials until we hit 82%. The performance guarantee isn't a clause — it's the deliverable.

Single point of accountability.

One project manager from FEED to commissioning. No handoffs, no finger-pointing, no "that's the EPC contractor's problem."

In-house fabrication is a feature.

Owning the shop means we control lead times, weld quality and cost. It also means we can revisit a vessel during commissioning — without raising a PO.

After-sales is the long game.

Most of our work today comes from clients we commissioned for ten years ago. We're not optimising for the first cheque — we're optimising for the third plant.
